Welcome to the website of Newtown Action on Climate Change (NACC).

NACC is a community voluntary organisation in Newtown dedicated to raising awareness of climate change and helping people to reduce their emissions of harmful climate change gases.

Climage change is now regarded by the world scientific community as almost incontrovertable. The debate now is quite how extreme or not it will be. It is almost certain to doom the futures of millions of people in the most vulnerable parts of the world, and is likely to blight the lives of our children and grandchildren here in the UK.

It is essential that we limit this damage to our childrens future by reducing drastically and rapidly our emissions of carbon into the atmosphere.

Are you concerned about the effect the bypass will have on Newtown - encouraging more growth in traffic, pushing up carbon emissions, and damaging to our natural environment.

A new group, Newtown Traffic Solutions, has been formed to provide a forum to investigate more long term sustainable solutions for Newtown.

If you share these concerns, the group has posted a petition on the WAG website, asking for more serious look at some of the alternative suggestions for addressing the traffic problem in Newtown. To add your name, please go to the petition site
