History

NACC began in Autumn 2007 because of a growing awareness of climate change, and the fact that it was becoming obvious that action at a local level is one of the essential components of the struggle to combat global warming.

Since then, the group has since been involved in a number of activities to promote more local activity on reducing carbon emissions. These include

• Film showing of "An Inconvenient Truth"
• An energy audit of the Town Hall
• Public debate on Peak Oil
• Community Energy Saving Workshop
• Delivery of Home Energy Surveys in partnership with Lightfoot
• Participation in the Newtown Carnival

We hold regular monthly steering group meetings that all members are welcome to attend. Please contact us via the details on the contacts page if you would like to be involved.
